Thank you to all our volunteers supporting the NHS

Over the last year we have seen the kindness of individuals, organisations and communities coming together to help those in need and support the NHS.

Throughout the year volunteers have provided vital support to our communities by helping people to stay well and live independently at home. Whether it is running classes to stay active online, befriending people who are at risk of feeling isolated or sharing their experiences to help improve local health services, we are grateful to volunteers for all they do.

Through your selfless care, our NHS services have been able to focus on treating those who are most unwell, and save lives. Whether it is doing the shopping for a vulnerable neighbour and offering assurance to family members living further away,  helping people stay in touch, delivering PPE, or back office staff who’ve put themselves forward to work on the front line, we want to say thank you.

We are also truly humbled by those who used their own personal resilience to support families and friends who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

We’d like to say an extra special thank you to everyone who has given their time to support the Trafford Covid-19 vaccination programme and the NHS over the last year. You have helped us achieve the incredible milestone of vaccinating over 132,500 Trafford patients as part of the biggest vaccination programme in history. Without your generosity we would have struggled to have achieved such a quick and successful vaccination programme roll out.

Our volunteers have stood outside in cold, rain and snow marshalling traffic,  welcomed patients into the vaccination centres, managed queues, booked people onto clinics, acted as interpreters, vaccinated large numbers of patients, supported people get to their vaccination appointments, manned a Covid-19 hotline, undertook door knocking in communities and ran webinars with groups. Not forgetting those behind the scenes working tirelessly to plan the delivery of this diverse programme whilst often still doing their day jobs – you all have done a tremendous job.

The level of commitment, creativity and dedication shown by all our volunteers has been amazing.  We are proud to have you as part of Team Trafford and could not have done it without you. Thank you.

Kind regards
