Winter Wellbeing

This winter, NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group and Trafford Council will be supporting you with guidance on staying well, as well as keeping you up to date with opening and closing hours of hospitals, GP surgeries and pharmacies in the borough.

Trafford General Hospital

Please contact 111 before you attend the urgent care centre or walk-in centre at Trafford General Hospital

To reduce the spread of the coronavirus and seasonal flu and keep you safe, please ensure you contact 111 before you leave home via or by calling 111. Your needs will be quickly assessed to determine the best course of action without having to leave your home and where appropriate for a face to face appointment you will be booked into one at the relevant service.

The Urgent Treatment Centre remains open 8am-8pm, 7 days a week and are currently operating an appointment service as well as seeing walk-in patients.

However, if the situation is life-threatening, you should dial 999.

Altrincham Hospital - Minor Injuries Unit

The Minor Injuries Unit at Altrincham Hospital will remain temporarily closed so that we can continue to direct our staff and resources to support Urgent and Emergency Care at Wythenshawe Hospital and Trafford General Hospital.

We are doing everything we can to ensure patients continue to receive safe and effective care. All outpatient services will continue to be provided from Altrincham Hospital. We remain committed to reopening the Minor Injuries Unit as soon as it is safe to do so and would like to thank everyone for their continued support for the NHS.

For support, both in or out of hours, please contact NHS 111 in first instance. Call 111 or visit

If you feel like you are coming down with something, even if it just a cough or cold, please seek immediate advice from your local pharmacist before it becomes more serious. Trafford pharmacies all have a number of highly-trained staff and professionals available to provide advice and support and when necessary medication to care for minor conditions/self-limiting illnesses yourself.

If your symptoms are linked to Covid-19 then advice and treatment when necessary can still be sought via a relative/carer/neighbour or friend.
