CSC announced as successful bidder for new Patient Care Co-ordination Centre in Trafford

Following an extensive and comprehensive procurement process Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a global leader in next-generation IT services and solutions, has been announced as the successful bidder to deliver a brand new Patient Care Co-ordination Centre (PCCC) in Trafford – subject to the conclusion of contract negotiations.

The PCCC, which will be based in Altrincham, will offer a joined-up solution to the co-ordination of a patient’s care in Trafford. The aim is to provide a single point of access and monitoring of care ensuring that people receive the right care at the right time at the right place.

The Centre is commissioned by NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and the Chief Clinical Officer, Dr Nigel Guest, said: “The PCCC is a key element of our strategy for delivering high quality, co-ordinated health care to the Trafford population. In CSC we are delighted to have found a partner with a strong track record of delivering innovative solutions in complex and challenging environments including the NHS.”

Ensuring a good patient experience is central to the concept of the PCCC and clear and meaningful engagement with patients and groups representing their interests will be a key feature in its implementation.

Philippe Houssiau, Vice President UK Healthcare at CSC, said: “We are delighted to be selected as the preferred provider for the Trafford PCCC service which will set a new standard of care coordination for the Trafford population. The PCCC is designed to improve the coordination of care across primary, acute, community and mental health sectors and deliver a significantly improved experience for patients and care providers. It was clear from our initial discussions that the Trafford CCG team and CSC shared the same vision for a high quality, value for money service.”

The Centre is now in its implementation phase and will be co-ordinating the care of patients by this summer.
